Document allowedScriptHosts and the cloud private address block - #181
Documents two platform changes so plugin authors can use them, from squaredup/saas#10226 and squaredup/squaredup-plugin-repository#2088:
allowedScriptHosts in base.config lets a script fetch hosts outside the base URL's registrable domain, such as a token endpoint on another domain. Entries are exact hosts (auth.example.com) or wildcards (*.example.com); a wildcard on a public suffix (*.com) is rejected.
No private addresses in the cloud. The data source's requests, its OAuth2 token request and a script's fetch can't reach loopback, link-local or private addresses. Relay agents are unaffected.
Changes:
references/metadata.md: new Fetching other hosts section under Pre-request scripts, linked from Script scope and the contents.
references/data-streams.md: post-request globals list fetch, with a pointer to the host rule.
SKILL.md (Phase 1, auth pattern): note whether the token endpoint is on another domain.
REVIEW.md: a Platform facts pointer, and a Security rule on keeping allowedScriptHosts to the vendor's own exact hosts.
Draft until these are confirmed:
Both PRs (WebAPI 1.11.0 and the js-eval change) are released to production.
squaredup validate accepts allowedScriptHosts. Confirmed on dev master: a list of hosts, a {{ }} template and a list of { value, label } objects pass; a plain string and a number fail. US rejects the key until the saas release reaches it. The docs now say a single host must still be a list.
Clarified that scripts can use fetch, limited to the base URL’s domain unless additional hosts are allowed. Host restrictions also apply to redirects, and SquaredUp cloud requests to private network addresses are blocked.
Documented allowed-host configuration, validation, wildcard and templated-host behaviour, and guidance to prefer vendor-documented exact hosts over wildcards.
Updated authentication guidance for custom token endpoints hosted separately from the API.
Added review guidance for scripts that fetch from another domain.
Scripts can now fetch hosts outside the base URL's domain when they are
listed in base.config's allowedScriptHosts, and in SquaredUp's cloud no
request reaches a private network address (squaredup/saas#10226,
squaredup/squaredup-plugin-repository#2088).

Walkthrough
The documentation describes script fetch host restrictions and the allowedScriptHosts setting. It also adds guidance for plugin builders and reviewers. The changes document existing restrictions; they do not describe changes to script runtime behaviour.
The reference documentation describes the default host restriction, allowedScriptHosts configuration, redirect checks, and the SquaredUp cloud private-network restriction.
Add authoring and review guidance .claude/skills/build-plugin/SKILL.md, REVIEW.md
The build guidance says to list a different token endpoint host in allowedScriptHosts. Review guidance covers vendor-documented hosts, exact hosts, wildcards, and arbitrary host templates.
Merge Risk: Minimal · up to 617ed
The changes document host restrictions without changing runtime behavior. Template interpolation and production availability remain unconfirmed.

- Line 39: Update the allowedScriptHosts authoring guidance to permit a
documented token endpoint on another domain when required by a custom
