FICImageFormat maximumCount not respected?

No matter what value I set for maximumCount on my FICImageFormat, the image table seems to grow to the same size. Is there an implicit minimum count the image tables use?

Depending on what you're trying to accomplish, try

    imagesListThumbnail.style = FICImageFormatStyle16BitBGR;
    imagesListThumbnail.imageSize = CGSizeMake(176, 176);
    imagesListThumbnail.maximumCount = 250;

The problem has been known to be in the initial setup via

imagesListThumbnail.devices = FICImageFormatDevicePhone;
