Description

Improve Node.js installation diagnostics when a Linux runner is missing a required shared library.

The previous error could report a generic Node installation failure without identifying the missing system dependency.

Changes

  • Detect missing Linux shared libraries from node --version stderr and identify the missing library.
  • Preserve exit codes and stderr for unrelated execution failures.
  • Keep existing executable-launch and version-mismatch handling.
  • Add regression tests for libatomic.so.1 and generic nonzero exit codes.
  • Regenerate dist/setup/index.js.

Validation

  • 237 tests passed across 11 suites
  • ESLint passed
  • Prettier passed
  • TypeScript compilation passed
  • Production build passed
  • Git whitespace check passed

The Linux missing-library scenario was verified using a mocked process failure.
